When you talk about track days in Europe, Skylimit Events is the first name you come across. Based at former Formula 1 venue Circuit Zolder in Belgium, Skylimit Events has built a strong reputation on many motorsport levels, organizing their first track day at Circuit Zolder in 2000. 15 years later, the Skylimit calendar is full of track days and other events not only in Zolder, but also at Europe’s most famous road courses, Spa-Francorchamps and the Nürburgring Nordschleife.  Skylimit Events is owned by founder Andy Jaenen and race car driver Jo Lammens. Skylimit Events USA is be a partnership between Andy Jaenen and California based Lisa Linke.

Andy Jaenen explains what is behind this expansion to the USA. “In 2015 we organized about 50 trackdays at the most challenging racetracks in Europe. Of course we could run events on more European tracks but when you can call Spa and the Nürburgring your “second home,” it is not easy to find real challenges for our customers and ourselves” Andy says, “In the years past I was a spotter for the Riley Motorsports Viper GT team on some of the legendary American road courses, and I started to think how to expand Skylimit Events to the USA. American drivers who have joined our events in Europe like the Skylimit way of running things, so I am happy we took this step and look forward to November 2016.”

“We have chosen Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca as our first venue for Skylimit Events USA for a number of reasons”, Lisa Linke explains, “First of all we need some time to prepare for this challenge, and by choosing November 2016 we have a whole year of preparation ahead. California is also one of the best options because of the late fall climate. Another reason is we wanted a racetrack that had a worldwide fame and Laguna Seca is on top of the must-do list for many petrol heads.”

“Of course we look at local track day drivers to join our November 2016 event. But we are sure there will be some European drivers who will see this as a nice opportunity to drive at this amazing track. And to be honest, every hobby racer has dreamt of dropping his car down the Corkscrew” Andy Jaenen tells us.

And Lisa Linke adds, “We will also set up a one week tour through California for our customers who want to explore the Golden State. This will not a normal tourist drive but one with some exclusive visits of workshops and museums about cars and motorsport. We will also help the European clients to rent a race car to drive this beautiful racetrack”
